In maths and science
State data, unknowns, units and assumptions. Choose and rearrange the relation before substituting. Calculate, inspect signs and magnitude, then answer in a sentence. A graph illustrates; reasoning establishes.
In humanities
Describe, explain, compare and discuss require different responses. Connect each claim with evidence and explanation. Supply relevant dates, scales and definitions. Keep quotations exact and preserve data units and sources.
Keep an error log
Record error type, cause and corrective action. Replace “wrong sign” with an operation written on both sides and a substitution check. Later solve a nearby problem without a model rather than copying the full correction.
